Sisal Wheel

Description

A sisal buffing wheel is a stiff, aggressive cutting tool made from woven natural sisal fibers, often spiral-sewn or layered together with cotton. Paired with coarse abrasive compounds, it is used on metals such as stainless steel and aluminum to quickly cut through deep scratches, tool marks, and oxidation during the first stage of the polishing process, rather than for final mirror finishing.

Applications

  • Heavy-duty cutting and initial-stage metal polishing
  • Removing deep scratches, tool marks, and oxidation from stainless steel and aluminum
  • Works well with bench grinders, rotary buffers, and die grinders using standard arbor holes
  • Best paired with aggressive cutting compounds such as black emery or brown tripoli
